The Annual Meetings 2020

The Annual Meeting is normally held before the end of May each year but was postponed this year due to the Coronavirus pandemic.  The Church of England has stated that the meeting must be held by 31 October 2020.

The Annual Meeting actually consists of two meetings - the Annual Parish Meeting and the Annual Parochial Church Meeting.  The meetings this year will be held on Sunday 18 October 2020 in church at 10.30am.  The attendance at the meetings will be limited due to the continuing need to mainatin 2 metre social distancing.  Consequently a booking system will be needed to manage attendance but this will also enable people from the same household to be accommodated in the same pew - this increases the allowable attendance.  If you wish to attend but are prevenbted from doing so by this limitation, written questions and comments can be submitted to the secretary beforehand.

Please ring 01332 881025 or email info@denbychurch.org.uk to add your name to the list for seats.  The closing date will be 11 October.

A pack of information about the meetings will be distributed to all those on the current Electoral Roll plus other regular worshipers two weeks before the meeting.

Electoral Roll

Although the Electoral Roll was revised and displayed in church prior to the originally planned Annual Meeting in April, this has to be repeated.  Therefore the  Electoral Roll will be open for revision bewteen 13 Sep and 27 Sep 2020.  Under the Church Representation Rules any lay persons are entitled to have their names entered on the roll if the person:

The second declaration is that the person is a member of the Church of England or of a Church in communion with it, is not resident in the parish, but has habitually attended public worship in the parish during the preceding six months.

The third declaration is that the person is a member in good standing of a Church which is not in communion with the Church of England but subscribes to the doctrine of the Holy Trinity and is also a member of the Church of England and has habitually attended public worship in the parish during the preceding six months.

Application Forms for enrolment can be obtained from the Church Electoral Roll Officer or PCC secretary (ring 01332 881025), or email info@denbychurch.org.uk

In order for a person to be entitled to attend the annual parochial church meeting and to take part in its proceedings, an Application Form for enrolment must be returned by the date shown above for the ending of the revision of the Church Electoral Roll by the Parochial Church Council.
